Portraits from Ethiopia

We were so amazed at the diversity in Addis Ababa. We encountered people from all walks of life - from poor beggars on the street, to merchants and college students. It was really odd to me but at the same time, made me really love the place. I am so proud of where our daughter is from and cannot wait to tell her all about the adventure we had there.

Here are some portraits Jeff took around the city. This was like the highlight of his life by the way. I wish you could have seen him - 6'4 tall, huge smile, giant camera around his neck - asking people in english if he could take their photo.... It was pretty awesome and ridiculous all at the same time. I think Jeff and I stumbled upon a new passion in Ethiopia -- capturing the world - their faces and stories.... It will be neat to see what God does with this in the future.

I LOVE ALL OF THESE!!!!!!! And, of course, my favorite is of the guard at the guest house (I still cannot remember his name even though my husband yelled it a thousand times.) laying in the grass. Hilarious.
